Shanti Saroj Netralay is an Eye hospital which is owned and managed by Dr. Sharad Bhomaj and Dr Pooja Bhomaj. The hospital started in October 2003 & since then has been offering its services to the community for comprehensive eye care with a specific focus on retina , glaucoma and cataract.

Dr. Sharad Bhomaj completed his MBBS in December 1992 from J. N. Medical College, Belgaum . He secured the Krishna Kamat Prize for the highest marks in Medicine at the final MBBS exam. He then secured 10th rank in All India PG Entrance exam and pursued his post-graduation in ophthalmology from Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi in the year 1995 and passed the MS (Ophth) exam in the year 1998. He served as senior resident, Ophthalmology from the year September 1998 to March 2000 in the same institution in Glaucoma & Oculoplasty Unit. He then proceeded to do a one year fellowship in Vitreo Retina at Retina Foundation Ahmadabad under the able guidance of Dr. P. N. Nagpal from April 2000 to March 2001.

He worked as a Vitreo retinal consultant from April 2001 to July 2003 at Lions NAB Eye Hospital at Miraj, Maharashtra where he efficiently ran a high volume vitreo retinal unit for 2.5 years. Presently, since August 2003 he has his private Vitreoretinal practice at his clinic, Shanti SarojNetralay, Miraj. He has Twelve indexed publications to his name and has had over 25 presentations in various conferences. He has authored 2 chapters on Retinal Detachment & Posterior segment ocular trauma in the textbook Postgraduate Ophthalmology, Jaypee Bros.2010. He was recently awarded the Dr Suresh Limaye Award for Best paper in Vitreo-retina in the Annual conference of Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society in 2013, 2014,2016& 2017 ; also overall Best paper 2017
